Gender equality
Since 2018 I am the chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission and a member of the Equality Commission of the Physics Faculty.
In the latest years, I have been involved in different projects to promote gender equality in physics and encourage girls in STEM:
To commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science in 2020, Assumpta and Alba talk about Dr Parreño's research, focused on understanding the world around us through the dynamics between the smallest known particles in our Universe. She primarily researches the fundamental blocks that build the matter, known as quarks and gluons. Alba loves nature, handball, cooking and crafts. She would like to find cures for cancer, but she would also like to become a cook or a fashion designer.
